Programme overview

Greenwich University Karachi proposes to launch a Bachelor of Studies in Multimedia and Digital Arts to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in Pakistan's rapidly expanding digital entertainment and creative technology sectors. This four-year undergraduate program is designed to equip students with a strong foundation in computing, combined with specialized expertise in game design, game development, animation, visual effects, interactive media, and digital storytelling.

The program responds to the global rise of the gaming and multimedia industries, which have become significant contributors to entertainment, education, marketing, and even healthcare and training simulations. Pakistan's young, tech-savvy population and increasing access to digital tools present a valuable opportunity to develop local talent capable of competing in international markets, as well as contributing to the country's emerging creative economy.

Students enrolled in this program will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard game engines, 3D modeling and animation software, and multimedia production tools, alongside coursework in programming, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, sound design, and user experience. The curriculum blends technical rigor with creative practice, preparing graduates for careers as game developers, multimedia designers, animators, VFX artists, AI filmmakers, and entrepreneurs in the interactive media space.

Learning outcomes & curriculum

Graduates of the BS in Multimedia and Digital Arts will demonstrate the following Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs).

01PLO 1 — Knowledge for Solving Computing Problems: Apply knowledge of computing fundamentals, mathematics, science, and domain-specific knowledge to define, abstract, and conceptualize computing models for solving complex problems.
02PLO 2 — Problem Analysis and Solution Design: Identify, formulate, research, analyze, and solve complex computing problems, reaching substantiated conclusions using fundamental principles of mathematics, computing sciences, and relevant disciplines. Design and evaluate solutions, systems, components, or processes that meet specified needs while considering public health, safety, cultural, societal, and environmental factors.
03PLO 3 — Modern Tool Usage and Development: Create, select, adapt, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern computing tools (including software, hardware, and methodologies) to complex computing activities, with a clear understanding of their limitations.
04PLO 4 — Communication, Teamwork, and Professionalism: Function effectively as individuals and as members or leaders in diverse, multidisciplinary teams. Communicate effectively with the computing community and society at large through reports, documentation, presentations, and clear instructions, while demonstrating understanding of societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues in local and global contexts.
05PLO 5 — Ethics and Life-long Learning: Understand and commit to professional ethics, responsibilities, and norms of computing practice. Recognize the need for and engage in independent, life-long learning for continual professional development.
