Programme overview

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is offered under the HEC Revised Curriculum for BS Computer Science 2025 (Notification No. HEC/NCRC/CS&IT/2025/8163) and is documented for accreditation under the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) framework.

The degree is an NQF Level 6 undergraduate qualification comprising a minimum of 130 credit hours delivered across 8 regular semesters (minimum 4 years). The curriculum balances a strong computing core with general education, interdisciplinary mathematics, specialisation electives, an industry-recognised professional certification, a supervised internship, and a capstone Final Year Project.

Students choose from six proposed specialisation tracks — Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, and Multimedia & Animation — completing 24 credit hours (eight courses) from an approved elective pool.

The programme retains the ten HEC / Seoul Accord-aligned graduate attributes (Program Learning Outcomes):

Admissions

Admission & eligibility

Applicants must hold an HSSC / A-Level qualification, or an IBCC-equivalent qualification, involving at least 12 years of schooling with a minimum of 50% marks
Mathematics must have been studied at the intermediate level to be eligible for admission
Where prior education was completed under a different country or educational system, an equivalency certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) is required
Students who did not study Mathematics at the intermediate level must complete 6 credit hours of Mathematics deficiency courses during the first year, including a zero semester where applicable
