Admissions enquiries

Privacy Policy

How we handle the information you give us when you enquire about admission.

Effective 12 August 2026Last reviewed 12 August 2026

Admissions enquiries made through our website, our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, WhatsApp, telephone, and in person.

1Who we are

Greenwich University is a degree-awarding private university in Karachi, Pakistan, established in 1987. Our campus is at DK-10, 38th Street, Darakhshan, DHA Phase VI, Karachi.

This policy explains what we do with the personal information of people who enquire about studying with us. It is written in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, please ask us and we will explain it.

2The information we collect

When you make an admissions enquiry, we collect only what we need in order to reply to you and guide your application:

  • Your name
  • Your telephone number, including WhatsApp number where these are the same
  • Your email address
  • The programme or school you are interested in
  • Your city
  • The date and time of your enquiry, and which advertisement or page it came from
  • A record of our contact with you — for example that a counsellor called, when, and a short note of what was discussed

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, your national identity card number, financial or payment details, passwords, or health information as part of an enquiry. If you later apply formally, any additional information required will be collected through our admissions process and handled under that process.

3How we collect it

Meta lead forms. When you fill in an enquiry form attached to one of our advertisements on Facebook or Instagram, the details you type are passed to us by Meta.

WhatsApp. When you message our WhatsApp number, or tap a WhatsApp button on one of our advertisements or web pages.

Our website and telephone. When you complete a form on greenwich.edu.pk or call our admissions line.

In person. At open days, education fairs, and campus visits.

In every case the information comes from you. We do not buy contact lists, and we do not add people to our enquiry records who have not contacted us themselves.

4Why we use it

We use your information for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and to help you through the admissions process. In practice that means:

  • Calling or messaging you to answer your questions about programmes, eligibility, fees, scholarships and how to apply
  • Routing your enquiry to the counsellor for the school you asked about
  • Following up if we could not reach you, or if you asked us to call back later
  • Keeping an internal record so that if you speak to a different counsellor, they can see the history and you do not have to repeat yourself
  • Understanding, in aggregate, which programmes and advertisements generate enquiries, so we can plan better

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with other institutions, agents, or advertisers for their own use.

5How and when we will contact you

When you give us your telephone number in an enquiry, you are asking us to get in touch. We aim to respond within one working day, and usually much sooner.

We may contact you by:

  • Telephone call — our admissions counsellors will call you on the number you gave
  • WhatsApp — from our official university number, +92 339 3300003. Our first WhatsApp message acknowledges your enquiry and tells you that a counsellor will be in touch. Any further WhatsApp messages relate to your enquiry or application.
  • SMS — occasionally, where WhatsApp is not available on your number
  • Email — where you have given us an email address

These messages are about your enquiry. We do not use your enquiry details to send you unrelated marketing, and we do not add you to a promotional broadcast list.

If you would rather we stopped, you can tell us at any time: on WhatsApp reply STOP or tell the counsellor; on a call say so and we will close the enquiry; or email privacy.secure@greenwich.edu.pk. We will stop contacting you about that enquiry and mark our records accordingly. You do not need to give a reason.

6Who else handles your information

We use a small number of established service providers to run our admissions enquiry system. They process your information on our instructions and for no other purpose:

ProviderWhat it does for us
Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp Business Platform)Hosts our advertisements and enquiry forms, and delivers our WhatsApp messages
Make.comPasses your enquiry from the form into our admissions register automatically, so nothing is missed
Google (Sheets, Apps Script)Holds our admissions enquiry register and runs the internal console our counsellors use
ManyChatSends our WhatsApp messages through the official WhatsApp Business Platform

Some of these providers store data on servers outside Pakistan. Where that happens, we rely on the provider's own contractual and security commitments. Access to our admissions register is restricted to named admissions staff, each with their own login, and each counsellor sees only the schools they are responsible for.

7How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for 24 months from your last contact with us, after which they are deleted. If you enrol, your information becomes part of your student record and is retained under the university's student records policy instead.

If you ask us to delete your enquiry sooner, we will do so, unless we are required to keep it for a legal or regulatory reason.

8Your choices

You may ask us to:

  • Tell you what we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong — a misspelled name or a wrong number, for example
  • Delete your enquiry record
  • Stop contacting you, as described in section 5

Write to privacy.secure@greenwich.edu.pk or call 021 111 202 303. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not disclose your information to someone else.

9Applicants under 18

Some of our programmes are open to applicants who are under 18. Where that is the case, a parent or guardian may make the enquiry on the applicant's behalf, and we are happy to speak with a parent or guardian instead of, or as well as, the applicant. If you are under 18 and would prefer we contacted your parent or guardian, tell us and we will.

We do not knowingly collect information from children who are not enquiring about study with us.

10Keeping information safe

Our admissions register is held in the university's own Google account, not on a public server. Each counsellor has an individual login, sees only their own schools, and every action taken on an enquiry is logged with the counsellor's name and the time. Access is removed when a member of staff leaves.

No system is perfect. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you and act to put it right.

11The law we work to

Pakistan does not yet have a single comprehensive data protection statute; the Personal Data Protection Bill remains before Parliament. In the meantime we handle your information in line with the obligations that do apply to us — including the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 and the Protection from Spam, Unsolicited, Fraudulent and Obnoxious Communications Regulations, 2009 — and, as a matter of choice, with the standards of care set by international data protection practice. If and when Pakistan's data protection legislation comes into force, we will update this policy to meet it.

12Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle enquiry information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Significant changes will be noted here for at least 90 days.
