Civics Students Visit Aghosh Trust

Civics and Community Engagement students visited Aghosh Trust to see grassroots social welfare for orphaned and abandoned children in action.

From classroom concepts to compassion in action. Students from the Civics and Community Engagement course visited Aghosh Trust, an organisation dedicated to caring for orphaned and abandoned children, giving students a firsthand look at grassroots social welfare work. The visit offered a meaningful opportunity to witness the impact of community-driven care and support systems — deepening understanding of social responsibility, empathy, and the vital role civil society organisations play in strengthening communities. Through observation and interaction, students connected classroom learning with real-world civic engagement and a deeper appreciation for compassion, service and collective responsibility toward the most vulnerable members of society.
