Karachi, May 11, 2023: Greenwich University secured the first position at the Inter-University Bilingual Declamation Contest 2023, specifically in the Urdu speech category. This prestigious competition was organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The event was initiated on the recommendation of the honorable Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Mr. Raja Pervez Ashraf. Waqar Haider Zaidi, a student from Greenwich University, emerged as the victorious participant. As part of the competition, he was extended a special invitation to deliver an honorary speech at the National Assembly. The topic of his speech was 'My Constitution, Guarantee of My Freedoms.' This engagement aimed to provide the office bearers of the National Assembly with a fresh perspective on the constitution, specifically through the lens of the youth. Mr. Zaidi was bestowed with the prestigious Pride of Performance Award. The award was presented by the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bilawal Bhutto, and the Speaker of the National Assembly, in recognition of his exceptional talent and eloquence.
